This past Saturday, October 19th, Agworld celebrated its 10 year anniversary in Perth, Western Australia. With staff, clients and suppliers flying in from all parts of Australia, New Zealand and the USA, more than 100 people helped celebrate Agworld’s continued success at the Reveley rooftop bar and restaurant at Perth’s Elizabeth Quay.
Agworld started on the 8th of December 2009 with just 3 people and the aim of promoting digital collaboration between farmers and their advisors, is now a multi-nationally operating company with over 50 people based in Australia, the USA and New Zealand. Agworld is Australia’s most used Farm Management Software, with over 75% of agronomists and thousands of growers relying on Agworld on a daily basis, and there has also been wide-spread adoption in Agworld’s other key-markets.
In his speech on the night itself, CEO Doug Fitch referenced the exhilarating journey that Agworld has been for himself, staff and many clients: “We started with just an idea of helping farmers and agronomists utilise technology to improve their communication. We initially based our platform on a digital pen, but created the Agworld app as soon as the first iPad was released by Apple. Technology has changed tremendously in the last 10 years, but the support from our staff and engagement from our clients has been something that has stayed the same and that has made this journey as fulfilling as it has been.”
Mr Fitch not only spoke about the past, however, but also revealed some future plans for Agworld: “To support our continuing growth, we’ve just signed the lease on a larger office space here in Perth; the team is looking forward to moving into this new space sometime late November. From a product perspective, Agworld is increasingly looked upon as THE data platform in agriculture for farmers, agronomists and other advisers and, to assist with this platform status and further enhance it, Agworld has recently started integrating with Microsoft Power BI.
Chief Product and Marketing Officer Matt Collins remarked: “Connecting the industry has always been at the core of what we're about. Connecting the Agworld platform with the leading solutions such as John Deere have been exciting steps forward in our goal to continue getting the best outcomes for our customers. We're thrilled to announce the upcoming integration with Microsoft Power BI later this year, which will help growers extract even more value from their farm data by surfacing financial and operational insights that drive better decisions.”
CEO Doug Fitch also announced that Agworld is about to start conducting business in its fifth major country soon: “Agworld is currently active in four main markets, Australia, the USA, New Zealand and South Africa, while we also do have some users in other countries in the Pacific Island region and other areas. As of next month however, we will officially be active in Canada as well; this will be the fifth major market place we will be operating in. We have been engaging with growers, ag retailers, ag accountancy providers and machinery dealerships in Canada for sometime now and are very excited by the level of interest and commitment we’ve received already.

Agworld VP of Operations, LeeAnn Murphy, adds: “Our team in Fort Collins, CO have just started onboarding our first users in Canada and couldn’t be more excited about the product market fit that Agworld has in Canada. The feedback we are receiving from all our user groups is just awesome and I’m confident that we’ll see a rapid uptake of the Agworld platform in Canada. This is actually my first visit to Australia and I just love seeing how passionate our clients are about Agworld, especially those that have supported Agworld for nearly the whole 10-years of our journey. There is nothing stopping us from achieving the same success and value for our customers in both Canada as well as the USA, this much is clear from the feedback we are getting from our user base.”
